How do I summarize a million little things that God has done in our life to lead us to this point? Walking with God is about the journey, not the destination. Our journey with God has led us here. Several years ago, we felt God begin to stir our hearts for missions. I grew up on the mission field and have always known that I wanted my children to experience what I did because of the impact in had in my relationship with God. I never, though, imagined I would become a full time missionary. About 3 years ago, God put it on our hearts that one day we would move and be missionaries. We didn’t know when or where but knew it would happen. Then last year, after praying for about a year for when and where, we felt God lead us to a children’s home in Mexico. We went as a family and served for five days. It was a wonderful and humbling experience for us and the boys and only furthered our desire to follow God where he was calling us. Then this year, as things began to change at Kyle’s job, we realized that God was using the turbulence to say that this was the time. So, following God, he quit his job and we began to look for where he was leading. It might seem backwards to quit and then look. However, when God leads you to act, you do it, even if it doesn’t make sense.
Since then, seven months ago, we have had a lot of conversations with different organizations and learned about a lot of opportunities. When we talked to the sister of a friend who lives in Croatia and were introduced to Mision de Betel we did not believe, at the time, this was where God was calling us. Then, a month or so later, we connected with the director – Isabelle, and realized that God was calling us there. So, we changed our direction and began to work toward visa and selling everything to move. It has been an up and down process, as I mentioned, it isn’t about the destination but what God is doing in this journey that has led us to this point.

Now, we are excited to go and help serve Betel in whatever way we can. At first, we will be focused on learning the language and culture for a year or two depending on how well we acclimate. Then, slowly, we will integrate with the ministries that Betel serves.
They have a focus on discipleship as well. We felt God stir our hearts for their ministry because it stirred the heart God has already given us for this very thing. They main focus is Bible literacy. Getting people to read the word for themselves, to go to God, to know Him and follow Him. They do this through marriage retreats, summer camps for youth in June and July. They also do teacher trainings, community events like a Christmas party to gather different churches and unite them on mission, women’s Bible studies and more. There is so much work to be done, and we want to be apart of what God is doing in Spain. God said that the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few so pray for the harvesters.
That is what we are asking of you. Partner with us to pray for us as we go. Partner with us financially as Jesus said in Luke and Paul talked about in His letters. We are willing. Are you?
