Journeying Forward: Prayers, Praises, and Stepping Into the Story

In every season of transition, it’s easy to feel weary or uncertain. But there’s a word that sustains the weary: hope—rooted not in circumstances, but in the promise that God is orchestrating every detail for good. Our family is walking through an incredible chapter, and we need your prayers and partnership right now as God continues to build and guide the way forward .

Prayer Requests and Open Doors

Tomorrow holds two important moments for us: we’re hosting an open house from 10–12, and we have a potential car buyer coming at 10 AM! Would you join us in praying for God’s perfect timing and for the right buyers to come at the right moment? Every step in this process feels like a leap of faith .

Praises: Markers of God’s Favor

We’re celebrating two amazing blessings:

  • Flint Outreach is now officially 501(c)(3) tax-exempt. That means every gift given is now tax-deductible—an encouragement for supporters and another sign of God’s provision .
  • We had a house showing last Sunday, and even though it didn’t result in a sale, it gave us hope and encouragement that momentum is building. More to come as we watch and pray for a dip in mortgage rates and just the right buyer .

Big Steps Toward Spain

The biggest news: our tickets are booked for Spain—October 21 is official! We’ll be heading over for two weeks for a vision trip, attending the conference we’ve been talking about, exploring neighborhoods, and meeting local friends like Isabelle . It’s a whirlwind, but it feels like God’s timing. There’s so much yet to plan, including transportation and lodging, but we’re trusting that God is opening the doors step-by-step.

A lot can change in seven weeks. Our hope? That we’ll have the house sold and visas in hand, ready for a longer stay. Until then, we walk forward, full of excitement and expectancy.

Family Moments: Campouts, Soccer, and Growing Together

Last weekend, we went camping as a family. While the heat gave me a temporary scare, God provided relief and rest. The boys got to splash and play in the creek, making memories we’ll treasure. These outdoor adventures—soccer and walks in the park—have been a gift, especially with more family time as Kyle’s work schedule has shifted .

Seeing God’s Hand in Hard Places

We’re especially grateful for God’s protection over Declan’s birth—a reminder that even when trouble threatens, “no weapon formed against you shall prosper.” God protected us, and Declan’s life is a living testimony of grace—not just survival, but thriving joy .

Praises and Cries for Prayer

  • Kyle’s contract job has restarted, far exceeding our initial expectations of a three-week stint—now extended to several months. We are grateful and pray for continued provision .
  • Shellie, Kyle’s sister, is on the path of healing from leukemia after starting treatment. Praise God for rapid improvement and please keep lifting her up for complete healing and peace .
  • All our apostilled documents are back, some already bilingual—another answer to prayer as we prepare paperwork for visas.
  • The boys are thriving, enjoying soccer and growing in their Spanish skills. We may need to find new ways to talk in “code” since they now understand so much!
  • Living Stones Study continues to grow—look for new content this month!

We continue to pray for all these transitions:

  • House and car to be sold
  • Visa process and fundraising
  • Fruitful October vision trip
  • Physical health for the boys, and Shellie’s full recovery
  • Language acquisition and unity in 10-day prayer coalition efforts
  • Living Stones Study and its outreach

Invitation: Join Us in Prayer and Purpose

As Psalm 127:1 reminds, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” We invite you to pray alongside us and share any specific requests you have. Our family prays regularly and would be honored to lift you up as well .
